Essex, born Krzysztof Komar in 1991 in Kielce, Poland, has been involved in music since 2009, developing his skills as a self-taught artist. As a producer and DJ, he creates music that can be described as forest-inspired, organic, psychedelic and electronic. His sound draws influence from a wide range of genres including downtempo, house, psytrance and world music.

Essex is a resident of the Flow Tent stage at Las Festival and a member of Banati Collective as well as the Etnika Elektronika project. He is also a co-creator of Totem Festival. He performs both as a live act presenting original compositions and as a DJ, showcasing a broad spectrum of musical styles. On stage, he embraces experimentation, incorporating live looping and improvisation using instruments such as transverse flutes, mandolin, vocals and keyboards, making each performance unique.
His live act performances feature collaborations with Grzegorz Kielan (djembe) and Iga Su (violin, vocals).

He has performed at venues and festivals including Summer Contrast, Wibracje Festival, Uroczysko, Las Festival, Kex Hostel (Reykjavík), Tribalanga Festival, Kazimiernikejszyn, Prozak 2.0, Transformator, Wyspa Tamka, Projekt Lab, Świętokrzyska Philharmonic, Męskie Granie, among many others.

His releases include “De EP Fo Rest”, “Dualizm”, “Ochenta”, “Mosq”, “Anima” and “Kap Kap EP”, released via the Rosa De Mona label. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with artists such as Kasia Moś, Quebonafide, Rosalie, VNM, Kuban, Gouva, Paprodziad, Sitek, Kyöku, and many others.
