Kalumet (aka Ork Monk, Trevor McGregor, Arboraetum, Tiger Punch) je projekt maďarského hudebníka Zoltána Vajdy, jednoho z oldschoolových vypravěčů psychedelické trance scény. Aktivní je už od poloviny 90. let a prošel celým vývojem žánru od jeho globálního rozmachu až po současnost.
Jeho hudební kořeny sahají do konce 80. let, kdy začínal s kytarou a baskytarou, a široké spektrum vlivů – od post-punku přes elektroniku až po tradiční hudbu různých kultur – formovalo jeho jedinečný přístup k tvorbě. Typický je pro něj svobodný, žánrově otevřený fusion sound a silná storytelling atmosféra.
Během kariéry vydal více než sto skladeb na řadě labelů a pod různými aliasy vystoupil po celém světě – od undergroundových prostor až po hlavní stage festivalů jako Ozora, Boom, Voov, MODEM či Sonica. Každý jeho set je osobitou hudební cestou plnou psychedelické imaginace.
Kalumet (aka Ork Monk, Trevor McGregor, Arboraetum, Tiger Punch) is the project of Hungarian artist Zoltán Vajda, an old-school storyteller of the psychedelic trance scene. Active since the mid-1990s, he has witnessed and shaped the evolution of trance from its early global expansion to the present day.
His musical roots reach back to the late 1980s, starting with guitar and bass, while a wide range of influences — from post-punk and electronic music to traditional sounds from around the world — helped shape his unique artistic vision. Known for his free-form fusion approach and narrative-driven sound, his music moves beyond genre boundaries.
With more than a hundred releases across numerous labels and performances worldwide under multiple aliases, Kalumet has played everywhere from underground venues to major festivals such as Ozora, Boom, Voov, MODEM and Sonica. Each set becomes a distinctive psychedelic journey guided by imagination and experience.
