Martin “DJ Nkyp” Soukup is a veteran of the Czech electronic music scene, active behind the decks since 1991. He began his career in Prague’s Golem club and soon became one of the early pioneers of vinyl DJing in Brno, performing at the legendary Fan Favorit club.
Throughout his career, he has played across Europe and beyond, including appearances in Thailand, Sri Lanka and Spain, as well as at major venues and clubs such as Roxy (Prague), Radost FX, Fléda, and Berlin’s Love Parade. In 1999, he achieved 3rd place in the DMC DJ competition and became the first foreign DJ to perform in Belgrade’s XXL club after the war.
Known for his genre versatility, Nkyp moves naturally between melodic house, progressive and techno, always focusing on smooth flow, atmosphere and precise energy control.
Beyond DJing, he has also played an important role as a promoter. Together with DJ Subgate, he co-ran the long-standing club night Creative, and later became part of the We Come One project, organizing club events and livestreams. He continues to curate special events under Nkyp & Friends, bringing together DJs and collaborators from his network.
With over three decades of experience and a history of sharing stages with artists such as Jeff Mills, Jay Denham and Chris Liberator, DJ Nkyp stands as a respected figure of the Czech electronic music landscape.
