Sur means sound, tarang means wave.
The project was born from the need to create a sonic space for yoga practice. Soon, however, this was no longer enough, and the artists decided to share their music with a wider audience — this is how Surtarang was formed. Their main inspiration comes from oriental music, especially Indian traditions. They combine authentic instruments such as sitar, tabla, saz and darbuka with modern electronic sounds, blending elements of EDM, trance and dub. Mystical vocals and performed mantras complete the experience, taking listeners on a journey that is not only musical, but also emotional and spiritual.
